Cetyl M Equine Joint Supplement Update

Almost a year ago we started to give the joint supplement Cetyl M www.collarways.com our old mare Katie. We were pleased to be asked to trial this supplement on a veteran. We had great results. Please read two previous blogs.

So how are things going now after she's experienced the worst winter for many a long year? Good question.

Every time the snow deepened (it never seemed to melt) and the temperatures dropped even further we worried about Katie.

She was well wrapped up, had a new little Shetland friend for company, and both had 24/7 access to their stable.

How did her old joints manage? Just fine!

Cetyl M was, and still is, fed daily in her food and we believe that it helps her enormously. She is relaxed, happy, and more importantly, she is supple. Our  vet, farrier and equine masseuse can confirm this, and are happy to recommend Cetyl M. In fact they were all surprised at how supple Katie had remained over the winter months when they visited her recently.

If you have any need to consider using a joint supplement, we strongly recommend that you try Cetyl M first. We saw results within the first 14 days of use, and with continued use the result is maintained. A must for our golden oldies.

If you have friends who you think might be interested in Cetyl M please tell them to read this blog. Please tell your vet about it, and your local riding club members. And, if you have any questions about the trial, please feel free to ask.

Supple Joints Part 2 Cetyl M update

This is the promised update regarding the progress of the joint supplement Cetyl M trial on our veteran equine Katie.

Those of you who read the first blog will know that the trial started in May. Under normal circumstance the loading dose of Cetyl M is 2 scoops morning and evening for the first 4 weeks, however, because of Katie's great age Garbriela from Collarways Collarways who distribute Cetyl M and who requested the trial, recommended the loading dose period was extended to 5 weeks.

After 5 weeks Katie was given 2 scoops daily in a very small feed in the evening.

The improvement in her movement and stiffness has continued, and been sustained.

Last weekend Kathy Boyer, Equine Therapist, gave Katie a massage.
Kathy knows Katie's condition very well so is in the perfect position to comment on her improvement. During the session Kathy did a series of stretches with Katie and she was amazed at the result. Kathy's parting shot when she left was, Keep giving her that supplement - it's marvellous stuff!.

This morning we had the second visit from our farrier, Richard Stephenson, since Katie started on the trial. On Richard's previous visit he had confirmed that in his opinion (as well as ours) there was some joint improvement.
Today Richard was amazed at the improvement in Katie's arthritis and how easily she moved. He said it was brilliant because she offered no resistance while he tended to her.

Both Kathy and Richard are willing and able to confirm the huge improvement in Katie.
Kathy can be contacted by email at Kathymboyer@googlemail.com and Richard on 07976612834.

Sat Nav dreams about supple joints . . .

Sat Nav dreams about supple joints. Not hers, or mine, but Katie's.

Let me explain.

Katie is our aged horse, a true veteran of the equine species who is fast approaching 30 years of age. Katie enjoys her retirement, but suffers from chronic arthritis - the very thing that forced her into retirement in her mid 20's.

Katie has wintered well, yet as soon as the weather improved she started to show signs of worsening stiffness, and discomfort. Was this the beginning of the end for her?

Quite by chance Gloria (Sat Nav) was offered the opportunity from Gabriela Lerner of Collarways www.collarways.com to trial a joint supplement called Cetyl M. After Gloria learned about the positive effects of Cetyl M, she felt very positive about giving it a try with Katie on a trial specifically for the equine veteran.
(I'm thinking about sprinkling some on Sat Nav's cornflakes - shhhhhhhh! Don't tell her ;-)

After a discussion with our vet, we began Katie's trial on 20th May 2009.

Cetyl M is described as palatable - immediately Katie loved it's taste. It is flavoured with molasses and apple, and she eats it readily in her food, or out of our hands.
No problems tempting a fussy eater then!

Within a week we started to see signs of improvement.

Today, day 19, the improvement is remarkable. Her hind leg joints are actually flexible now, not fused, and there is a bounce in her step that hasn't been there for a long time. She is blooming.

Next week we will decrease Katie's intake to the maintenance dose recommendation. Shortly after that I will publish a blog to report on her progress.

Cetyl M is a natural product. It contains 100% plant based cetyl myristoleate derived from the Kombo nut.

For a limited time Collarways are offering a 20% discount off the RRP.

If you are thinking about trying or changing a joint supplement, then please try Cetyl M.

Up to date we have had an excellent result, and recommend it for any equines suffering from joint stiffness regardless of age, but for your golden oldies it's a must!
